Advancing the Inclusion Agenda with Elizabeth Runham

Original production by Thrive HR Exchange
Hosted by Matthew Chapman, Co-creator of Thrive HR Exchange and Founder of ChapmanCG

There’s never been a more pivotal time than now to bring the world closer together. Global HR leaders have a huge role to play in empowering and enabling the workforce in this unprecedented global ‘people crisis’.

Like many others, Elizabeth (or Lizzie) has been challenged to reflect on her role as the HR Director for Facebook. She shares some of her key observations and lessons learnt in the year so far, including:

  • ‘Giving direction’ vs. ‘questioning decisions’ as a leader and organisation

  • Setting a new and more sophisticated agenda for inclusion

  • Influencing a new type of ‘empathetic leadership’

Guest Bio:

Lizzie is the HR Director for Facebook International, supporting the teams across EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. She is an experienced HR leader, who has been lucky enough to undertake a series of wonderful assignments around the world, radically transforming businesses across the Financial Services, Healthcare & Media sectors, with a 'spike' in the emerging markets of Asia, Africa & the Middle East.

Lizzie takes a real interest in designing a healthy organisational culture anchored in the employee experience and feels privileged to be working at Facebook, an organisation where this philosophy is truly lived. She is also brilliantly nosey about how things work, and what truly makes a difference and can often be spotted away from her desk deep in conversation!

Lizzie completed her undergraduate degree at Cambridge University & continued her executive learning in HR at Columbia and Stanford Universities. She is married to a terribly athletic husband, has 3 young children and is an enthusiastic amateur cook and horsewoman.
