As a people-centric organisation, PepsiCo responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with an immediate action plan around safety and well-being. With more than 250,000 employees worldwide, it was no easy feat to ensure the health of each employee, while moving the needle for the organisation to be more agile.

As the Senior HR Director for Africa, Middle East and South Asia, Marie-Louise Ek takes stock of her insights and observations since starting her role with PepsiCo in January 2020.

She shares:

  • Physical and mental health plans for frontline vs. office workers.

  • Correlation between improved employee experience and talent management.

  • Organisational value on agility over rigid planning for the future.
